Job Description


My client is seeking a Director of E-commerce to work on a 12-month fixed term contract.
This is an opportunity to join an international premium skincare brand as it accelerates its
digital growth. The Director of E-commerce is responsible for all aspects of e-commerce
sales, marketing, strategy, team management and execution of direct-to-consumer


Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership & Project Management
  • Own the global e-commerce strategy
  • Implement the 2022 e-commerce strategy, including key drivers such as the loyalty scheme and new product launches
  • Bring together the offline and online D2C strategy to ensure that all brand touchpoints (digital and in store) are aligned
  • Project manage an ongoing project roadmap for our direct-to-consumer channels
  • Trading & Commercial
  • Manage the brand websites
  • Oversee the e-commerce P&L
  • Deliver against net sales targets
  • Optimise website performance through conversion and AOV
  • Marketing
  • Accelerate digital growth and drive traffic to the site through a cross-channel marketing
  • strategy: CRM, PPC, paid media, SEO, affiliates
  • Align with offline brand channels to deliver 360 customer first campaigns
  • Team Management
  • Project manage an outsourced website and e-commerce team
  • Work closely with internal teams including marketing, commercial sales, operations, spa & finance teams


Skills & Experience:

We are looking for a versatile leader who understands the luxury sector and has extensive
experience of project management and driving e-commerce growth.

  • Strategy & Project Management
  • At least 8 years’ experience working at a senior level in e-commerce with a background in luxury and/or beauty
  • Extensive project management experience leading and managing digital projects from inception to completion
  • Previous implementation of a digital roadmap
  • Proven track record in growing online and digital channels
  • Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholder expectations
  • Trading & Commercial
  • Delivery of strategic KPIs and project markers against timelines
  • Experience managing a budget and P&L
  • Expertise in launching new products via digital platforms
  • Expertise in bringing together instore and online trading & marketing activations, preferably in the luxury and/or beauty sector
  • Strong working knowledge of various e-commerce platforms and reporting suites including Google Analytics and Tableau
  • Marketing
  • Experience managing the budget and execution of digital marketing channels including CRM, SEO, Affiliates, Display, Paid Social and PPC
  • Able to translate offline campaigns into digital-first campaigns
  • Team Management
  • Experience managing internal and external resource, ideally with a background in managing an outsourced website with a remote team
  • Strong and confident communication skills with an ability to present at various levels including to non-digital natives
