Field Sales Manager

Job Description:

Reporting directly into the Sales Director, the Field Sales Manager is responsible for leading and managing the on-trade sales team in the South of the UK to deliver its strategic goals.

Leading a team of four/five Sales Managers, you will secure the distribution, availability and visibility of our beers, uphold perfect quality and execution standards in the trade and be responsible for continuous volume growth.

You will lead from the front through developing your own book of business, the ownership of strategic and commercial relationships and the building of a strong network within the trade. Strong negotiation skills and a solution-orientated mindset are key.

  • Engage key consumers through innovative activation that differentiates our brand from other lagers


Team Leadership

  • Lead a team of Account Managers and coach them to consistently extraordinary performance
  • Train the Southern sales team on sales techniques, presentation skills, product knowledge and standards of performance
  • Positively impact the performance of individual sales team members by implementing and managing personal development plans
  • Ensure team continuity and recruit accordingly


Strategic Development

  • Identify, win and protect distribution in the South
  • Ensure correct positioning of the brand and beer portfolio in the South
  • Ensure delivery of the distribution, revenue and execution KPIs of the South field team
  • Be an active member of the senior sales team



  • Negotiate and implement commercial partnership agreements.
  • Fulfilment of all reporting deadlines.
  • Bottom-up planning to ensure the utilisation and return of investment of all marketing tools



6+ years in a sales position with a strong track record of success.
3+ years in a dedicated people management role.
Outstanding local market knowledge, contacts and experience in London’s “beer scene”.


Knowledge & Skills:

  • Coaching and mentoring of individuals that results in high-performance.
  • Good communication skills, ability to manage and cultivate good relationships.
  • Negotiation and Objection Handling skills. Has a good understanding of commercial maths.
  • Business and scene savvy, committed, passionate and able to live late-night lifestyle.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.).
  • Solution oriented and “Do-it-now” attitude.
  • Strong Personality, Presence, Work Ethic, Style, Persistence, Reliability, Self-Awareness, Sociability, Self-Motivation and Ambitious
  • Able to manage time and workload to optimize effectiveness and efficiency
